  12. You can't possibly need all the options in modes.mf
  13. No one will ever run an alphatype CRS again, except for the
  14. poor souls who are already stuck with one.  At least
  15. half the impact printers are not something you are likely
  16. to ADD to an existing system.  Many of the displays are
  17. archaic, and needed by people like me who
  18. have to live on salvage equipment.  A judicious review
  19. of the modes available will easily lead you to about
  20. 50% of the list that can be removed with impunity at any
  21. single site.  You always have the original modes.mf if
  22. anyone goes bonkers and decides to try to rejuvenate
  23. an alphatype CRS.

  46. North American academic institutions have been taken over by MBA 
  47. bean-counters and genuine or wannabe industry CEOs.  Just when 
  48. American industry is beginning to doubt the wisdom of autocratic 
  49. pyramidal dictatorship, most American Universities have adopted 
  50. that style of management, which is nice for refugees from defense 
  51. industry boardrooms, but rather sickening for the rest of us.
